un/der construction
Show notes
Using ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) techniques, we reappropriate urban sounds recorded at the many construction sites that appear almost daily around Berlin. None of the sounds you hear are from real construction. By playing with surfaces and making our “construction” noise, we reclaimed the auditory and physical spaces of Berlin. While construction sites occupy the streets and remain untouchable, we touched them. Power often silences us. So here we whisper. Can we be loud when loudness is not allowed? Overlaid with voice and other urban soundscapes such as protests and busy streets, this podcast poses the question: who gets to make noise? Concept and Voice: Polina Medvedeva and Viola Majdandzic.
